Pooja Gupta is a Service Manager at Wipro and her husband Yogesh Gupta is a Businessman. They are parents of Arshia Gupta, enrolled in class 7 F at Apeejay School, Noida. In an interview, she shares why every parent must teach their child to be respectful and humble towards others. Read excerpts from the interview:
What made you choose Apeejay School, Noida, for your child?
Apeejay is the best school in my vicinity. I have got good reviews about the quality of education and the overall development of the child. It has a good campus area and a variety of co-curricular activities, which helps students to develop their interests and expand their creativity.
What is the most important lesson each parent must teach their child?
Every parent must teach their child to be respectful and humble towards others. As these two qualities make a child build good relationships and earn trust of others. Be it in school, personal life or at the future workplace, a child will be only able to work in a team with these abilities. Every parent must remind their child that success is achieved only when we respect, and acknowledge others.
Tell us what you think about the way teachers conduct classes.
Teachers play an important and crucial role in shaping the characters of students. As a role model for appropriate behaviour, a teacher must always show respect to all students. These qualities of a teacher inspire kids to become like them. I would also like to mention that Tilky mam has always welcomed feedback from students as well as their parents.
How has your child’s learning progress been?
We are very satisfied with Arshia’s overall progress. She always gets ample opportunities to explore and progress in all aspects. She has been successful in striking an appropriate balance between academics and co-curricular activities. Her confidence and social skills have enhanced a lot due to a range of classroom activities and responsibilities being shared by her.
Apeejay believes in the overall development of children. Is your child also learning moral values and etiquette?
Yes. Moral values play an essential role in any student’s life. These values help build a child’s positive character such as compassion, respect, kindness, and humility. It can make students distinguish between right and wrong or good and bad.
Inculcating moral values in a student’s life can also help them stay away from the negative influence of peers and social media. These values can shape the students’ attitudes and beliefs towards various aspects of life. Moral values can boost a child’s self-confidence by making them fight in difficult situations.
