‘My goal is to become a skilled, compassionate, and inspiring teacher’

Madhu Kumari, a B.A. B.Ed, an integrated student at Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram has embraced every opportunity to grow as an aspiring educator. Her journey has been marked by continuous learning, hands-on teaching experiences, and the development of essential skills such as communication, creativity, and leadership. With the support of experienced faculty and a practical learning environment, she is steadily working towards her dream of becoming an inspiring teacher. In this interview, Madhu shares why she chose Apeejay, her learning experiences, and her aspirations in the field of education. Read edited excerpts: 

Why did you choose Apeejay for higher education?

I chose Apeejay Stya University because of its integrated teacher education programme, experienced faculty, and practical approach to learning. I wanted to study at a university that focuses not only on academic knowledge but also on skill development, creativity, and professional growth. Apeejay has provided me with all these opportunities.

What are your learning aspirations?

My goal is to become a skilled, compassionate, and inspiring teacher. I want to continue improving my teaching methods, communication skills, leadership abilities, and understanding of inclusive education. I believe learning is a lifelong journey, and I always look forward to gaining new knowledge and experiences.

How does the faculty help you explore new skills?

The faculty members are very supportive and approachable. They encourage us to ask questions, think creatively, participate in discussions, and take part in practical activities. Their guidance during projects, presentations, and internships has helped me improve my confidence, classroom management, and problem-solving skills.

Do you have hobbies? How did Apeejay provide you a platform to explore them?

Yes, I enjoy reading, creative writing, and participating in cultural and educational activities. Apeejay has provided opportunities through classroom presentations, competitions, workshops, and university events where I could express my ideas, improve my creativity, and build confidence while interacting with others.

What is your future plan?

My future goal is to become a dedicated and effective teacher who can make a positive impact on students’ lives. I also plan to continue my higher education and keep learning new teaching methods so that I can contribute to the field of education and support students in achieving their full potential.
