Students may have different ways of studying, but the habits that help them do well are often quite similar. Revising lessons regularly, understanding concepts instead of memorising them, and staying calm during exams can make a real difference. Over time, these practices give students better control over their preparation and help them enter the examination hall with quiet confidence.

Meet two such students, Ivaan Dixit and Aarav Parida (academic year 2025-26) from Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park. In a candid interview, the duo shares how the teachers and a timetable helped them ace their finals.

Ivaan believes that his confidence and logical thinking helped him perform better this year. “I studied with determination throughout the year. In school, I worked hard, asked questions whenever I had doubts, and focused on clearing my concepts for better understanding. I also actively participated in the activities conducted by our subject teachers, as they helped me learn more practically,” the now Class VII student said.

At home, he would study for two hours and then take a break. “I preferred playing outside during my break, and after returning, I would study again for another hour. After dinner, I would go to bed early so that I could begin the next day with a fresh mind,” he shared.

His teachers guided him as well, especially the class teacher who gave him important tips to improve his speed and fluency in various activities. His parents played a very important role in his journey as well.

“They were always by my side, encouraging me to grow in my studies while also balancing them with co-curricular activities and sports. They were like a bright light shining in the darkness,” he added.

The study habits that helped Aarav stay consistent were following a regular study schedule, revising my notes daily, completing assignments on time, and avoiding distractions.

“For difficult subjects, I spent extra time practising questions and reviewing my class notes regularly. Whenever I needed help, I asked my teachers to clear my doubts. This helped me understand the topics better and gave me more confidence. I followed a daily timetable, but I also kept some flexibility in it. The timetable helped me stay organised, while flexibility allowed me to adjust my study routine whenever necessary,” the now Class VII student stated.

His advice to other students is to stay consistent with their studies, revise lessons regularly, and clear their doubts with teachers and parents. It is also important to maintain a healthy balance between academics and personal well-being, he added.
