Aanchal Bhalla recently completed her Master of Computer Applications (MCA) from Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar, where she discovered her passion for digital marketing while building a strong technical foundation. From hands-on projects and presentations to memorable moments with friends and supportive faculty, her journey has been one of continuous learning and personal growth. In this interview, Aanchal reflects on her favourite college memories, skill development, and how AIMETC prepared her for a successful professional career. Read edited excerpts:

Why did you choose AIMETC for education?

I actually chose AIMETC because I wanted a college that focused on practical learning instead of just theory. When I looked into it, I found that students got opportunities to work on projects, presentations, and industry-related activities, which really interested me. I felt that it would prepare me for the real working world, and honestly, that turned out to be true.

Your favourite memory from college?

Honestly, my favourite memories aren’t from any particular event, they’re the little moments we shared every day. We would roam around the campus during breaks, sit in the canteen with a cup of tea, or just gather on the ground and chat for hours. We’d laugh at the smallest things, pull each other’s legs, crack silly jokes, and somehow turn every ordinary day into a memorable one.

Even getting scolded by a teacher felt funny later because we’d all laugh about it afterwards. Those moments of friendship, endless conversations, and carefree laughter are what made my college life so special. Looking back, I think those simple memories are the ones I’ll cherish the most.

How did working on different projects and assignments help you build skills?

The projects definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone. At first, I used to focus only on completing the task, but over time I learned how to research properly, manage deadlines, communicate with teammates, and present ideas confidently. Every assignment was different, so each one taught me something new. Looking back, I feel those experiences prepared me much better for the workplace than just studying from books.

How did AIMETC and teachers help you grow personally and professionally?

One thing I really appreciate is that our teachers were always approachable. Whenever we had doubts, they didn’t just give us the answer, in fact they encouraged us to think and figure things out ourselves. That helped me become more confident and independent. Professionally, they constantly motivated us to improve our communication, presentation, and interview skills, while personally they taught us the importance of discipline, consistency, and believing in ourselves. Those are lessons I’ll carry with me throughout my career.
