Abhirupa, a final-year B.Tech (Computer Science – AI & Machine Learning) student at Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar, has made the most of her academic journey by embracing innovation, hands-on projects, and continuous learning. From mastering emerging technologies to earning the prestigious Dr. Satya Paul Award for Human Values, she has grown into a confident and compassionate professional. In this interview, Abhirupa shares why she chose AIMETC and how its supportive faculty, industry-focused curriculum, and practical exposure shaped her personal and professional growth.  Read edited excerpts:

Why did you choose AIMETC for education?

AIMETC stood out to me because of its strong reputation in technical education and its forward-thinking curriculum — especially the AI/ML specialization within B.Tech CSE, which is not something every college offered. I also liked the campus culture, the faculty credentials, and the placement track record. It felt like a place where I could genuinely grow, not just get a degree. Looking back, I’m certain it was the right choice.

Your favourite memory from college ?

My favourite memory from college is receiving the Dr. Satya Paul Award for Human Values. What made it so special is that I never thought of kindness or empathy as something extraordinary — to me, being a good human being always felt natural and obvious. So when I was actually acknowledged and awarded for it, it genuinely caught me off guard in the most beautiful way. But what made the moment truly unforgettable was hearing my friends cheer for me from the crowd. That rush of warmth, pride, and love all at once — it’s something I can’t put into words even now.

How did working on different projects and assignments help you build skills?

Projects were where classroom knowledge became real for me. Every project came with its own challenges, and solving them taught me how to think critically, collaborate, manage timelines, and communicate results effectively. The recent project I worked on was building a restaurant POS system. Projects have been the most transformative part of my learning at AIMETC. I didn’t have detailed knowledge of certain technologies it demanded, but I chose to adapt and figure things out on the go. Successfully completing Phase 1 taught me that the ability to learn under pressure is just as valuable as existing technical knowledge.

My work further helped me sharpen my management, analytical thinking, and communication skills.

How did AIMETC and teachers help you grow personally and professionally?

AIMETC shaped me in ways I didn’t expect. Professionally, the faculty ensured we were always industry-ready, through updated curriculum, guest lectures, project-based learning, and placement preparation. Personally, the college taught me discipline, perseverance, and the value of asking for help. Teachers here treated us as individuals, not just roll numbers. That personal attention made a huge difference. I came in as a student and I’m leaving as someone who’s ready to face the professional world, and that transformation is largely because of Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering Technical Campus.
