In an era marked by demanding schedules, digital distractions, and increasing stress levels, the practice of yoga offers a pathway to balance, mindfulness, and holistic well-being. Embracing this timeless wisdom, Apeejay School of Management (ASM) and Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC) celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from faculty, staff, and students.
The special session, held in the institute auditorium, was conducted by the distinguished yoga expert, Acharya Shri Anil Mudgal Ji, whose insightful guidance transformed the gathering into a meaningful journey of self-awareness and rejuvenation. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Saumya Satija, who highlighted the significance of yoga as a practice that harmonises the body, mind, and spirit while fostering resilience and inner peace. During the session, participants were introduced to a series of yogic practices, including Pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation techniques, stretching exercises, and various asanas aimed at improving flexibility, posture, concentration, and overall health. Acharya Ji emphasised that yoga extends beyond physical fitness and serves as a way of life that cultivates discipline, mindfulness, and emotional well-being.

The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation from attendees, who actively engaged in the exercises and experienced firsthand the calming and energising effects of yoga. Through practical demonstrations and insightful discussions, participants gained a deeper understanding of how regular yoga practice can help manage stress, enhance productivity, and contribute to a healthier lifestyle.
Reflecting on the experience, participants shared positive feedback about the session and its impact on their well-being. Many expressed their intention to incorporate yoga into their daily routines as a means of maintaining physical health and mental clarity.

“As part of the Programme Office, I’m constantly juggling schedules. Just a few minutes of breathwork during the session helped me reset completely. I now feel encouraged to include yoga in my daily routine.” — Ms. Jitender Kaur, Programme Office
As educators, we often focus on the well-being of our students while neglecting our own. Today’s session reminded me of the importance of self-care. The breathing exercises and meditation techniques helped me feel calm, focused, and energised,” said Dr. Nupur Soti, Assistant Professor, Finance.
“The session was a refreshing break from our academic routine. Acharya Ji
explained each posture with great clarity, making it easy for everyone to participate. I realised that yoga is not just about fitness but also about achieving mental balance and inner peace,” added Dr. Vernica Aggarwal, Head, Centre for Research & Development, Apeejay School of Management.

“What could be a more positive and meaningful start to the day than yoga? The International Yoga Day celebration at ASM, conducted under the guidance of Acharya Shri Anil Mudgal Ji, truly elevated our spirits. The focus on yoga kriyas specifically beneficial for academicians was particularly insightful. The reverberations of ‘Om’ throughout the hall awakened a sense of inner strength, harmony, and connection with the higher self,” mentioned Dr. Pragya Arya, Area Chair – Operations & Decision Science, Apeejay School of Management.
The event concluded with an inspiring Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Pooja Yadav, who expressed gratitude to Acharya Shri Anil Mudgal Ji, the participants, and the organising team for making the celebration a meaningful success. The session left attendees motivated to embrace yoga not merely as a form of exercise, but as a lifelong practice for achieving balance, harmony, and overall wellness.
