Recently, Apeejay Svran Global School, FaridabadSector 21D, observed International Yoga Day with a programme centred on health, mindfulness and collective participation. The celebration brought together students, teachers and parents, making the day a shared reminder of the role yoga can play in everyday well-being.

The event was marked by a calm and positive atmosphere. Participants took part in Suksham Vyayam, followed by a series of yoga postures, pranayama and meditation practices. Each activity was aimed at helping participants understand balance, flexibility and inner awareness through simple physical and breathing exercises.

For students, the session offered more than a routine observance of a special day. It gave them a chance to experience yoga as a practice that supports both body and mind. In a school setting, such activities help children slow down, focus better and understand the value of discipline in a natural way.

Teachers and parents also participated in the programme, adding to its sense of community. Their presence showed that well-being is not limited to students alone. It is something that gains meaning when families and schools practise it together.

The celebration also reflected the larger message of International Yoga Day. Yoga is often seen as an exercise, but its deeper value lies in the way it encourages patience, steadiness and self-awareness. Through the session, participants were able to experience this connection practically and peacefully.

The programme concluded with the chanting of the shanti mantra. The closing note brought a sense of calm and quiet reflection to the gathering. It left participants with a feeling of rejuvenation and reinforced the importance of making health, mindfulness and balance a regular part of life.
