Good manners are the foundation of a refined personality. To nurture essential life skills and social etiquette among young learners, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, organised an engaging workshop on table manners for students from Nursery to Class II. The session was thoughtfully designed to introduce children to the importance of proper dining behaviour and courteous conduct from an early age.

The workshop was conducted by Mrs Pooja Sangwan, who interacted warmly with the students and guided them through the basics of dining etiquette in a simple and child-friendly manner. Through demonstrations, role play activities, and interactive discussions, students learned how to sit properly at the dining table, use napkins correctly, handle cutlery with care, and eat neatly without wasting food. The session also highlighted the significance of using polite expressions such as “please,” “sorry,” and “thank you,” waiting patiently for one’s turn, and showing respect towards others at the table.

The learners participated enthusiastically throughout the workshop and displayed keen interest in practising the manners being taught. Their active involvement made the session lively, enjoyable, and highly effective. Beyond dining etiquette, the workshop also reinforced important values such as cleanliness, discipline, patience, gratitude, and respect for food.

The initiative proved to be a meaningful learning experience for the students, helping them build confidence and develop habits that contribute positively to their overall personality. Such practical sessions play a vital role in the holistic development of children by preparing them to conduct themselves gracefully in everyday social situations.

The school Principal, Dr Vineet Vasishtha, appreciated the efforts of Mrs Sangwan for organising and conducting the informative workshop. He emphasised that good manners and etiquette are integral to character building and personality development, and introducing these values at a young age lays the foundation for responsible and respectful behaviour in the future.

“I appreciate the thoughtful initiative of organising a workshop on table manners for our young learners. Such sessions are essential in nurturing discipline, confidence, and social etiquette from an early age. Mrs Sangwan has conducted the workshop effectively, making learning enjoyable and meaningful. I commend the students for their enthusiastic participation and encourage them to practice these valuable habits in their daily lives,” Dr Vasishtha said.

The workshop concluded on a cheerful and positive note, leaving the students enriched with valuable lessons that they will carry forward in their daily lives.
