‘Focus and consistency have shaped his academic growth’
The Apeejay School, Greater Noida, parent shares how her son has grown through steady effort and a balanced routine
Her son shifted from Apeejay School, Panchhseel Park, to Apeejay School, Greater Noida, when the family had to move to this part of the city. Today, he is in Class X. His journey so far has been good. “He has done very well academically. This academic year (2025-26), he secured the second position in his class. He scored 96 per cent this year, so we are very proud of him. He has always been a rank holder since childhood,” Dr Sheeba, whose son, Izaan, is studying here, shared.
In a candid interview, she talks about her son’s holistic development, among other things.
How has your experience been with the teachers at Apeejay School, Greater Noida?
The school has a good environment, and Izaan has benefited from its focused approach. As a parent, I feel that continuity in teaching plays an important role in helping students build confidence, especially in the senior classes. When students connect well with their teachers and follow a steady academic pattern, it supports their learning more strongly.
How are you supporting him at home?
Izaan has always been self-studious, so as parents, we try to support him without putting unnecessary pressure on him. We give him the space to study independently, but we also keep guiding him whenever he needs help. Since Class X is an important year, we try to keep his routine balanced.
How do you ensure that he doesn’t stress about the Board exams?
I try not to pressurise him. He has a hectic schedule because he is also preparing for JEE exams. To break the monotony, he likes playing PS5, basketball, and badminton. He does things that he enjoys. I have explained to him that he should not worry too much about marks at this stage.
What changes have you seen in his study habits?
He has become more focused and consistent. I tell him to do as much as he can. At this stage, I feel children need encouragement more than constant reminders. As long as he is sincere with his efforts, I want him to stay confident and balanced.
What advice would you give to other parents whose children are entering senior classes?
Children need to be more focused and consistent because there is a lot of competition. Regular practice and regular studies are important. At this stage, studying for at least eight hours a day is necessary. Parents should guide their children in that way, but they should also avoid putting too much pressure on them.
