Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, has always believed in empowering students with the skills they need to thrive in an increasingly competitive world. In alignment with this vision, Class XI-F participated in an engaging and insightful Career Counselling Activity that brought real-world experiences directly into the classroom. Under the expert guidance of the School Counsellor, Ms Ria Sharma, students took part in a dynamic mock interview session designed to prepare them for future academic and professional pursuits.

The session aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and workplace expectations by placing students in realistic interview scenarios. As they stepped into the roles of young aspirants, students learned how to introduce themselves effectively, maintain confident body language, and respond thoughtfully to challenging questions. Ms Sharma provided valuable feedback, helping them refine their communication skills and understand what employers truly look for in candidates.

Throughout the activity, students tackled a variety of commonly asked and often tricky interview questions. Some of these included: “Tell me about yourself,” “What are your strengths and weaknesses?” “Why should we select you?” and “Where do you see yourself in the next five years?” These questions encouraged students to reflect deeply on their personal strengths, aspirations, areas of improvement, and long-term goals. By practising their responses, they learnt how to articulate their thoughts with clarity and conviction.

Beyond answering questions, students also discovered the importance of self-presentation. They explored how factors such as posture, tone of voice, grooming, and confidence contribute to creating a strong first impression. The activity emphasised that interviews are not merely about responding correctly; they are about showcasing personality, professionalism, and potential.

The mock interview session proved to be an invaluable experience, equipping students with essential life skills that extend far beyond the school setting. It motivated them to think about their future careers, understand industry expectations, and take ownership of their personal development. For many, it was a moment of self-realisation, an opportunity to identify their strengths, recognise their dreams, and begin shaping their path ahead.

Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, remains committed to nurturing confident, capable, and career-ready young adults. Activities like these reinforce our belief that when students are given the right guidance and exposure, they rise to the occasion with remarkable enthusiasm and maturity.
