CBSE begins LOC submission for Class 10, 12 board exams 2027

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has begun the process of submitting the List of Candidates (LOC) for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations 2027. Affiliated schools can submit the details of eligible students through the CBSE’s online portal from September 24 to October 21, 2026 without a late fee.

The LOC submission is an important step in the board examination process, as only students whose names are registered will be permitted to appear for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations.

For Class 10, the LOC being submitted at this stage is for the first board examination session scheduled during February-March 2027. CBSE has clarified that schools will have to submit the LOC separately for the second Class 10 board examination.

Important dates 

The schedule issued by CBSE is as follows:

–LOC submission begins: September 24, 2026

–Last date without late fee: October 21, 2026

–Late submission window: October 22 to October 30, 2026

–Correction window: November 2 to November 4, 2026

Details to submit

Schools have been instructed to provide details of students appearing for the examinations. These include the student’s full name, date of birth, gender, category, names of parents or guardians, subjects chosen, photograph and signature.

CBSE has also advised schools to verify the information before submitting the LOC. For Class 12, the eligibility criteria specified by the board include having passed Class 10 from a recognised school education board on or before the 2025 academic year.

For Indian students of Classes 10 and 12, the examination registration fee is Rs 1,600 for five subjects. An additional Rs 320 per subject will be charged for every additional subject.

Students whose details are submitted during the late-fee period will have to pay an additional Rs 2,000 per candidate, over and above the prescribed examination fee.

Once the LOC has been submitted, requests for changes in subjects, admissions to Classes 10 and 12 may not be considered. The request will be considered in transfer cases and certain concessions for students with disabilities.
