A journey from the jungle to the globe
Students at Apeejay School, Saket, let their imagination and curiosity shape learning
Learning through imagination and observation formed the focus of two engaging activities at Apeejay School, Saket. While nursery learners stepped into the animal world through a fancy dress presentation, other students explored the globe after their midterm examinations. Both experiences encouraged children to look closely, speak confidently and remain curious about the world around them.
Young learners bring the jungle to life
Nursery students participated enthusiastically in the Jungle Theme Fancy Dress Show. Dressed as their favourite animals, the children brought colour and energy to the activity. Each learner spoke about the animal represented through the costume.
Their short presentations included details about the animal’s features, habitat and food habits. This gave the children an opportunity to recall what they had learnt and express it clearly before others. The activity also helped them become more familiar with the wide variety of animals found in nature.
The experience went beyond dressing up for a theme. Speaking before an audience helped the young participants build confidence and strengthen their communication skills.
A globe opens a world of discovery
After completing their mid-term exams, students turned their attention towards the globe. They observed the planet and the vast blue oceans that cover much of its surface. What began with a simple look at the globe soon became an opportunity to reflect on the size and diversity of the world.
As students studied the oceans, they were encouraged to think about the stories held within them and the horizons that continue to inspire exploration. Each observation created room for another thought, and every discovery led to a fresh question.
The activity placed curiosity at the centre of learning. It reminded students that exploration can begin with something as familiar as a classroom globe.
Together, the two activities showed how observation, expression and imagination can make learning meaningful for children at different stages.
