Little Hands, big creativity: Learning through art

The Pre-Primary Section of Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, organised an engaging activity on Motor Skills Development, providing young learners with an opportunity to strengthen their fine motor skills through creativity, exploration and hands-on learning. The activity was designed to enhance concentration, hand-eye coordination, finger dexterity and artistic expression among the children.  

Under the guidance of Mrs Jyoti Goyal, Mrs Pooja Sangwan and Ms Navneet, the young learners participated enthusiastically in the activity. The incharges carefully planned the session in an age-appropriate and enjoyable manner, ensuring that every child could participate confidently. Their patience, encouragement and meticulous preparation created a positive and stimulating learning environment.

The highlight of the activity was the creation of colourful portraits of Lord Ganesha. Using a variety of materials, the children carefully created, arranged and decorated their portraits. As they worked with their tiny hands, they unknowingly practised essential skills such as grasping, placing, arranging and coordinating movements. The creative exercise also encouraged them to focus on details and complete their work with patience and care.

The young learners remained completely absorbed in the activity and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Their enthusiasm and curiosity demonstrated how experiential learning can make classroom experiences more meaningful and enjoyable. Along with developing motor skills, the activity helped children understand the importance of patience, concentration, neatness and perseverance.

Principal, Dr Vineet Vasishtha blessed the young learners and appreciated their enthusiastic participation. He also applauded the sincere efforts of the Pre-Primary incharges for creating enriching and engaging learning experiences. He encouraged the children to continue exploring their creativity and learning with the same enthusiasm.

The activity was a delightful blend of art, creativity and skill development, allowing the young learners to learn by doing. It not only resulted in beautiful Ganesha portraits but also fostered confidence, focus and joy among the children, making the experience both memorable and meaningful.
