The young learners of Class II-C at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, took the stage to present an inspiring and heartfelt assembly on the theme of Self-love. The event beautifully highlighted the importance of accepting oneself, building confidence, and practising kindness toward one’s being. Through a vibrant mix of skits, songs, poems, dance performances, and speeches, the students conveyed the significance of loving oneself.

Each act focused on how self-acceptance leads to a happier, healthier, and more resilient life. The young speakers encouraged their peers to embrace their uniqueness, practice positive self-talk, and engage in self-care. The assembly also emphasised the importance of gratitude and perseverance. The children demonstrated how believing in oneself helps overcome challenges, teaching everyone that mistakes are stepping stones to growth and resilience.

Follow the ice cream rule of self-love

A special highlight of the event was a thought-provoking speech by Ms Shilpi Minocha, an esteemed IIT professor and a proud alumnus of the school. She introduced the students to the Ice Cream Rule of self-love — just as we choose our favourite ice cream without waiting for others’ opinions, we should also be the ones to decide our self-worth and happiness.

She compared the brain to a superhero, explaining how it processes thoughts and emotions independently, without external help. Her message encouraged students to nurture themselves with compassion and not rely on external validation.

Spreading love begins with loving oneself

The assembly concluded with a unifying message: Self-love is the first step toward spreading love and kindness to others. The students’ enthusiasm and thoughtful performances left a lasting impact on the audience, reminding everyone of the importance of self-acceptance and inner happiness.

We are incredibly proud of our young learners for delivering such a meaningful message with confidence and warmth. A big thank you to the parents for their constant encouragement and support, which played a crucial role in making this event a success.

The Class II-C assembly was not just a performance but a gentle reminder to all — that self-love is the foundation of a joyful and resilient life. It encouraged students and teachers alike to pause, reflect, and appreciate their unique qualities. Moments like these foster a nurturing environment, empowering young minds to grow with confidence and compassion.
