The CBSE class X Science Board exam was held on March 2, 2024. The 100 marks paper was divided into two parts – out of which the theory paper was of 80 marks and internal assessment was of 20 marks in total.
The three-hour long paper competency level required students to apply their analytical and critical thinking skills. Such questions were asked in different formats like multiple-choice questions, case study-based or source-based questions.
The question paper had a total of 39 questions which was divided into five sections:
According to Ms Anjali Pandey, PGT Physics at Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad 21-D, the analysis of the Science class X Board exam is as follows:
1. The paper was moderate, containing a mix of easy to intermediate problems.
2. The question paper was entirely based on NCERT. Students with thorough knowledge of the subject will be able to score good marks.
3. The syllabus was covered very well. It is a good blend of theoretical, diagrammatic, numerical and competencies based questions.
4. Students were very happy as the paper went very well. They found Section D a little difficult and lengthy but overall the paper was balanced. They are very sure that they will score high marks that help them to score a good percentile.
“From the previous year, this year the questions are moderately difficult with having a few higher order thinking skill type questions. A student having a clear conceptual understanding and thorough knowledge of NCERT would have easily managed to solve all questions. Some questions were directly asked from the NCERT’s Exemplar. The paper was easy to score as all the sections were equally scoring,” Pandey said in conclusion.
