Delhi government launches model virtual school; boosts hybrid learning  

Recognising the persistent disruptions to school schedules caused by adverse weather conditions and previously the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Delhi government  has introduced the Delhi Model Virtual School (DMVS).

Delhi’s Education Minister, Atishi, shared insights on this initiative via her official ‘X’ account, emphasising the commitment to providing quality education to every child, irrespective of the challenges posed by external factors. The DMVS represents a step towards realizing this vision by implementing a hybrid schooling model, ensuring that students’ education remains resilient in the face of weather-related disruptions.

The Minister highlighted the primary goal of DMVS: to establish a hybrid schooling model that shields students from the adverse impacts of weather conditions. Employing cutting-edge technology and skilled educators, the virtual school conducts live classes and disseminates digital resources to students, creating a dynamic and interactive learning environment.

Furthermore, the DMVS plans to extend its efforts to transform all Delhi government schools into hybrid learning spaces, where education is accessible both offline and online. This strategic move aims to safeguard the continuity of children’s education, even in situations where physical schools may need to close due to unpredictable weather uncertainties.

In a noteworthy addition, the DMVS platform will now offer a valuable resource for students from Delhi government schools preparing for competitive exams such as JEE, NEET UG, and CUET UG. This expansion aligns with the broader goal of providing comprehensive educational support to students, ensuring their readiness for various academic challenges.

By introducing the Delhi Model Virtual School, the government envisions not only overcoming the challenges posed by recent disruptions but also preparing the education system for a more flexible and resilient future. Through innovative solutions and a commitment to quality education, Delhi’s education landscape is evolving to meet the evolving needs of students in an ever-changing world.
