Over 18 Lakh students await CBSE Class 12 results 2026

The Central Board of Secondary Education is expected to declare the Class 12 results for 2026 in the coming days, bringing relief to over 18 lakh students across the country. While the Board has not confirmed an official date, multiple reports indicate that the evaluation process is nearing completion, with results likely by early May.

This year, CBSE introduced a digital on-screen marking system for answer sheet evaluation. The move aims to improve accuracy and reduce delays often associated with manual checking. According to reports, the system has allowed examiners to assess answer scripts more efficiently, which may help in faster result compilation.

Students will be able to access their results through official websites such as results.cbse.nic.in and cbseresults.nic.in. In addition, digital platforms, including DigiLocker and the UMANG app, will provide access to scorecards, ensuring multiple options for students to retrieve their mark sheets without congestion on a single portal.

To pass the examination, students must secure at least 33 per cent marks in each subject. As in previous years, CBSE is not expected to release a merit list or name individual toppers, a policy aimed at reducing unhealthy competition and academic pressure among students.

The Class 12 Board exams were conducted earlier this year under standard guidelines, with participation from lakhs of students across affiliated schools. With the evaluation phase concluding, schools and families now await the final announcement.

The upcoming result will play a key role in shaping students’ higher education choices, as admissions to universities and professional courses depend heavily on these scores.
