Inter-house competition on water conservation  

Students from Classes VI to XII at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park showcase creativity and awareness under the theme Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain

In a meaningful initiative aimed at spreading awareness about environmental responsibility and sustainable living, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, successfully organised a series of Inter-house competitions during the house periods under the theme Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain. The programme sought to sensitise students towards the importance of water conservation, rainwater harvesting, and the responsible use of natural resources.     

Students from Classes VI to XII participated with great enthusiasm and showcased their creativity, awareness, and critical thinking through a variety of competitions, including essay writing, quiz competition, slogan writing, poster-making, and poem recitation. The event served as a vibrant platform for students to express their thoughts on pressing environmental concerns while reinforcing the message of conserving water for a sustainable future.

The essay writing competition for Classes XI and XII witnessed thoughtful and well-articulated entries reflecting students’ understanding of environmental challenges and possible solutions. Swarna Saha of Class XII B from Akbar House secured the first position, followed by Vanisha Vashisht of Class XII C from Vivekananda House in second place. Ayan Ali of Class XII C from Tagore House achieved the third position.

The quiz competition for Classes IX and X tested students’ knowledge on environmental issues, water conservation practices, and sustainability initiatives. Tagore House emerged victorious with participants Kavya Vijayakumar and Aram Noor securing the first position. Ashoka House, represented by Ranbeer Singh Arora and Katyani Sarkar, stood second, while Vivekananda House, represented by Ibrahim and Naysa Sati, secured the third position.

Creativity and innovation were on full display during the slogan writing competition for Class VIII students. Keshav Kapoor from Akbar House won the first position, while Hanshika Sharma from Ashoka House and Himanshu Aggarwal from Akbar House secured the second and third positions, respectively. Vaishnavi Singh from Tagore House received a Special Mention for her impressive contribution. 

In the poster-making competition for Class VII, students conveyed powerful messages on water conservation through impactful artwork. Mehar Kaur from Akbar House secured the first position, followed by Dhriti Sharma from Ashoka House.

The poem recitation competition for Class VI added a literary and emotional touch to the programme. Chitranshi Bajaj from Ashoka House won the first position, while Arohi Pandey and Ayaansh Pandey from Akbar House secured the second and third positions, respectively.

The programme concluded on a successful note with enthusiastic participation from all four houses, reflecting the school’s continued commitment to nurturing environmentally conscious and socially responsible citizens.
