Jalandhar school shines bright with ‘Sparkle 2023’ Carnival
From dazzling performances to thrilling rides, the students had it all
Diwali, also known as the ‘Festival of Lights’, holds a special place in the hearts of children all over India and beyond. It is a time of joy, laughter, and togetherness, when homes are adorned with vibrant decorations, and the air is filled with the aroma of delectable sweets.
Beyond the dazzling fireworks and beautiful diyas, Diwali carries significant cultural and spiritual importance. It symbolises the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil. For school kids, celebrating Diwali is not only a delightful experience but also an opportunity to learn about heritage, values, and the importance of spreading kindness and happiness. Through various customs and traditions, youngsters come to understand the essence of unity, gratitude, and compassion, making Diwali a cherished celebration that imparts valuable life lessons.
Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg in Jalandhar, turned into a bustling hub of excitement and celebration in October, 2023, as it played host to the highly anticipated ‘Sparkle-2023’ Carnival. The event, inspired by the immortal lines of WH Davies, “What is life if full of care, we don’t have time to stand and stare,” sought to create a momentous occasion for all stakeholders involved – from esteemed parents, dedicated students, and the visionary management, to the dynamic Principal, Mrs Sangeeta Nistandra, and the entire staff.
The festivities kicked off with a grand inauguration by the chief guest, Ms Abha Chopra, Director of the Punjab Kesari Group. With a plethora of vibrant performances, the cultural programme set an enchanting tone for the day. From the evocative invocation dance to the spirited group dances and a mesmerising medley of music, the audience was treated to a sensory feast.
For the thrill-seekers, the carnival offered an array of exhilarating rides, complemented by a delectable assortment of food and an exciting selection of computer-based games. The event also featured a baby show, a dazzling ramp walk, and a pulsating DJ, providing entertainment for all ages.
Adding an extra dose of excitement were the tambola games, which added an element of suspense and competition to the already lively atmosphere. Shri Hansraj Hans Ji, a distinguished Member of Parliament and a renowned singer from Punjab, graced the occasion, captivating the audience with his foot-tapping melodies. His presence was a testament to the carnival’s wide-reaching appeal.
The crescendo of the evening was the highly anticipated raffle draw, which featured an impressive array of 20 gifts, leaving the audience on the edge of their seats with anticipation. The principal, expressed her gratitude and extended heartfelt congratulations to the entire team for orchestrating the event’s resounding success.
The ‘Sparkle-2023’ Carnival was not just an event; it was a testament to the power of bringing people together to create lasting memories. The day left all in attendance with cherished memories to carry forward in their life’s diary.
