Leadership is not a god given ability. Leaders have to be prepared. One must test oneself in the fire of difficult situations, forge oneself in the furnace of discipline and it is only then that the leader within comes out.

Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg knows this truth. Thus the school does its best to prepare young leaders by providing them the stage, environment and knowledge. The school recently organised its annual investiture ceremony in the School Auditorium.

The newly appointed school cabinet took an oath of allegiance and loyalty to the values of truthfulness, duty and courage in a solemn ceremony attended by the parents of the students in council. Siddharth Cheema and Khushi Sharma were appointed as the head boy and head girl respectively.

Lt Col Aditya Sharma, an alumnus of the school who had served previously as the head boy presided over as the chief guest for the occasion. He administered the oath to the newly elected student-body and encouraged them to fulfil their duty with commitment and honesty. In his address, the chief guest also emphasized upon the core-values of a true leader and motivated the students to follow the path of righteousness at all times at all costs. He also gave examples from his tenure as the student body head and inspired the newly elected council to give their best to this responsibility and live up to the badge.

Addressing the students on the auspicious occasion, Principal, Mr. Girish Kumar said, “Investiture Ceremony is one of the most important events in our school calendar. Looked forward eagerly by students and parents alike, this ceremony is presided over annually by a promising leader who inspires the young student-leaders of our school. The elected student-leaders get an opportunity to further hone their leadership qualities by participating in and conducting various school events. My congratulations to the newly elected student-body and their parents.” He added, ” I wish you well in this coming journey and I have faith that all of you will carry out your duties with utmost sincerity.”
