“The school environment should be inclusive of all students, regardless of their backgrounds, abilities, or identities. Celebrating diversity and fostering a sense of belonging for everyone helps create a positive atmosphere where students can thrive. This school fosters strong relationships between students and teachers, as well as among peers,” expressed Roohiee Sameer Khan whose daughter Amyra is studying in class VI at Apeejay School, Nerul.

Excerpts from the interview

My daughter Amyra is actively involved in volleyball there. She is also a part of the team. Right now there are lots of preparations going on for the upcoming annual day and she is happily enjoying herself in dance and singing. Amyra also learnt Mandarin at school recently.

My daughter is 11 years old now and I can say confidently that she has undergone a vast positive change in her behaviour and personality. I have seen development of leadership skills in my daughter so far. She has also become very obedient and a disciplined child.

All the teachers here are the most wonderful lot. I can never thank them enough for putting in such great efforts for my daughter. The whole faculty deserves a standing ovation honestly. We have blind faith in whatever approach they use with my child. I believe it is ultimately for the betterment of our kids.

Everything is just too perfect. We as parents have no complaints regarding anything. In fact the environment is so conducive for a child’s progress which is not to be seen in any other school so far.

Its 100 percent true. A child after waking up and getting ready straightaway heads for the school and spends half a day there. After being exposed to school for such long hours, it is bound to happen that a child will get influenced by the environment and experiences there. Even the values, discipline and other virtues a child imbibes mostly happen at the school.

I personally feel that too much strictness with kids can have adverse effects. I think there should be a correct balance of both – being strict and giving freedom. I want to be a friend to my children so that we can have an open discussion on everything and I can explain and guide them well.
