Abhishek Shukla, a final year student with Apeejay Stya University, was elated with joy when he received the news of his success during the campus placement process. The student from Apeejay’s School of Management Sciences (SOMS) recently bagged a job offer from CarDekho, India’s leading car search venture.
When asked what his mantra was to crack this job interview, the Apeejay student replied, “I primarily relied on the guidance and advice provided by my professors throughout my preparation for jobs and interviews.”
Academic excellence
Marking the culmination of his academic journey, Abhishek explained that Apeejay Stya University has provided a rewarding experience for B Com Finance students. “The professors are supportive and knowledgeable, readily available to clarify doubts and offer guidance. Moreover, the campus environment is vibrant with various extracurricular activities and clubs. Overall, the academic journey at Apeejay Stya University prepares students well for careers in finance,” he emphasised.
The young professional also highlighted how nurturing various skills over the years spent in Apeejay Stya University came handy during the placement interviews. He lists down three core skills that helped him stand out from the lot:
Communication Skill: Being able to articulate ideas clearly and effectively was crucial for conveying my thoughts and understanding questions from the interviewers.
Problem-Solving Skill: Many interviews presented hypothetical or real-world problems to solve. Having the ability to analyse situations and come up with practical solutions demonstrated my critical thinking abilities.
Adaptability: I had to quickly adapt to different interview formats, questions, and unexpected situations. Being flexible and composed helped me navigate these challenges confidently.
Future aspirations
Abhishek explained that his future aspiration is to establish a successful career in finance, possibly as a financial analyst or investment banker. “I aim to continuously grow my expertise in financial management and make meaningful contributions to the industry,” he concluded.
