‘This institute made me a confident and fearless person’

The alumnus of AIMETC says the faculty helped him tap into his potential

He aspires to make his mark in the finance sector and believes in wise utilisation of money. Meet Aadeesh Kumar Dubey from the 2021-23 batch of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC). In a candid interview, Aadeesh recalls his good old college days where he found his true calling. 

Tell us about yourself.

I belong to the Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir. I did my bachelor in science from GDC Kathua and found interest in management studies during COVID-19 pandemic by exploring more about upcoming market opportunities.

What does your typical day look like?

I start my morning routine with workout and meditation. I make sure to take a balanced diet to start my day for the work. It helps me in keeping a focused approach towards my daily tasks during work time.

Tell us about your college life.

College life was very good. It was very student-friendly  with supportive faculty and proactiveness towards extra-curricular activities.

What specialisation you picked and why?

I took Finance and Marketing during my AIMETC days. I believe that financial inclusion and investment decision plays important role in developing the overall economy and freedom of an individual.

How is the faculty?

Faculty at the institute was extremely supportive, intellectual and they kept pushing me to participate in quizzes, singing activities and other inter-college events.

What is your dream and goal in life?

I want to progress in financial sector to know all aspects of finance and banking.

Any message for the aspiring students.

Just be dedicated to your work, keep good presence of mind and stay disciplined at every aspect of life 

Your comments on the brain drain trend.

Brain drain is the migration of educated people, hurting and losing country’s economy and innovation. It can also be a wake-up call to improve living conditions and attract talent back.

How did AIMETC help hone your skills?

The institute helped me in improving my confidence, tackle with inner fears , and honed my talent to become a stage performer. I have performed many singing and theatre events during college. 

Where are you working at present?

I am placed at HDFC Bank as a Relationship Manager in working capital management in Jammu.
