Learning about the environment often becomes more meaningful when children are allowed to create, observe, and think for themselves. At Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad, Sector 21 D, students of Classes VI and VII took part in an activity based on the theme Save Energy, Save Trees, Save Water. The activity encouraged them to look at natural resources not as distant ideas, but as part of everyday responsibility.
As part of the activity, students made colourful paper badges using waste materials and colours. The badges carried short environmental slogans such as Go Green and Save Water. Through these efforts, the students combined creativity with a clear social message.
The use of waste materials gave the activity a practical meaning. Children were not only speaking about conservation; they were also using discarded material in a thoughtful way. These actions helped them understand that small choices can support a cleaner and more responsible way of living.
Understanding conservation early
The theme focused on three simple but important concerns. Saving energy, protecting trees, and conserving water are habits that begin with awareness. For young students, such activities help turn classroom learning into something they can see and practise.
The activity also gave students space to express their ideas through art. Badge making allowed them to think about design, colour, slogans, and presentation.

A meaningful classroom experience
Students participated with enthusiasm and enjoyed the process of creating something useful from waste. The experience helped build environmental awareness while also strengthening their creative skills.
When children learn through hands-on activities, lessons stay with them longer. The activity at Apeejay Svran Global School showed how a simple classroom exercise can encourage young learners to make mindful choices in school, at home, and in the community.
