According to our Hindu Mythology, we know that there are majorly three Gods who are considered as supreme as suggesting “Tridev”, namely Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh (Lord Shiva). We relatively find many temples of Lord Shiva and Vishnu as compared to that of Lord Brahma. It has a very big reason behind it for which we have to delve into a story of our mythology.

Once, “Prajapati Daksh” (The father of goddess Sati) was washing the feet of his father Lord Brahma, soon lord Vishnu arrived, Daksh was very pleased with his arrival and ran to welcome him that time Lord Brahma got angry, when lord Vishnu returned he asked Daksh why he did so?

Daksh replied that he was a great devotee of Lord Vishnu and he could never miss a chance to be his favorite then Lord Brahma replied that he has a lot of knowledge that even three of his heads are not able to maintain and soon after a fourth head generated.

He started praising himself and said that he was the most powerful but who knew that the fourth head was of over-confidence and bad doings?

Then Daksh was very suspicious about why is Lord Brahma saying so? That’s when he was asked to give a proof. Lord Brahma angrily approached lord Vishnu and asked him to fight to prove who was more powerful.

Lord Vishnu denied it as he knew that if the fight started then it would finish this whole universe. Lord Brahma started questioning him he helplessly had to make him realize that he was generated from the internal energy of Lord Vishnu.

Still, Lord Brahma had a lot of pride that he was better and more powerful and to prevent the fight Lord Vishnu wanted Lord Shiva to come.

When he came there everyone welcomed him but Brahma due to overconfidence did not roughly talk with Lord Shiva, Lord Shiva was already angry but he somehow calmed himself and commanded them not to fight. To prevent so he raised a line and told them to find its start and end.

Both of them were not able to find its start or end then Lord Brahma acclaimed that he is very powerful and the line has no start or end. He started accusing Shiva and did not stop till lord shiva’s anger reached its peak. Lord Shiva then took up his “Trishul” and cut the head of Lord Brahma, the head of baddoings and overconfidence, and told him that he would not be worshipped and would not have his temples which was the result of his overconfidence. Then, he got to know the reality and asked everyone to forgive him.

This story tells us that we should never be over-confident as then we will face the consequences that are a result of our own Karma.
