In the vibrant halls of Apeejay School, Model Town, a new chapter of student leadership unfolded as the Junior Student Council for the academic year 2024-25 was announced. The school community gathered to witness an exemplary display of student engagement, with candidates presenting compelling campaigns and heartfelt speeches, marking a memorable democratic exercise.
The event was not just a ceremonial acknowledgment but a testament to the democratic spirit thriving within the school walls, as students from various classes participated actively, showing keen interest and enthusiasm for shaping their community.
The election process culminated in a heartfelt ceremony where the newly elected council members (Junior) were introduced. Head Boy Viraj Seth, Head Girl Kyra, Vice Head Boy Partap, Vice Head Girl Jasmaira, and Proctors Shivanshi and Avyaan Khurana stepped up to accept their roles amidst resounding applause, embodying the trust and expectations of their peers.
A Commitment to Service and Integrity
Officiating Principal Ms Priyanka Grover addressed the assembly, emphasising the significant responsibilities that come with these positions. “The commitment to this cause will undoubtedly contribute to the betterment of the school community,” Ms. Grover remarked.
She highlighted the essence of leadership as leading with integrity, inspiring through actions, and achieving with perseverance. The principal’s words resonated with the council’s mission to not only represent their peers but also to nurture an environment where every voice is heard and valued.
The principal also shared profound insights on the nature of true leadership and the journey ahead for these young leaders. “To safeguard democracy, people must have a keen sense of independence, self-respect, and their oneness,” she advised, urging the council members to embody these values in their tenure. She also underscored the importance of finding personal inspiration to become truly inspirational leaders.
