Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that cause illnesses, ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). A novel coronavirus (nCoV) is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans.

Where was COVID-19 first discovered?
The first known infection of SARS-CoV-2 was discovered in Wuhan, China. The original source of viral transmission to humans remains unclear.
Symptoms
Some of the primary symptoms to look for in a COVID-19 infected person are fever, dizziness, breathlessness, headache, dry cough (which may eventually result in phlegm), and, in a few cases, loss of smell and taste. A few cases have also reported diarrhea and fatigue.
Precautions
Some of the immediate precautionary measures that one took was:
Maintaining a safe distance from others (at least 1 meter), even if they don’t appear to be sick.
Wearing a mask in public, especially indoors or when physical distancing is not possible.
Choosing open, well-ventilated spaces over closed ones or opening a window if indoors.
Cleaning your hands often. Use soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub.
Getting vaccinated when it’s your turn. Follow local guidance about vaccination.
Covering your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
Staying home if you feel unwell.
