A class assembly organised by Class III-A as part of World Tourism Day celebrations brought alive the spirit of travel, discovery and responsible exploration at Apeejay School, Noida. Based on the theme Travel with Curiosity and Explore with Responsibility, the assembly encouraged students to appreciate India’s diverse cultural heritage while understanding the importance of being responsible travellers.

The programme commenced with the morning prayer, setting a serene and positive tone for the day. This was followed by the Thought for the Day and news headlines, presented confidently by the students. A meaningful poem celebrating the joy of travelling highlighted how journeys can broaden perspectives while reminding travellers to respect people, places and the environment.

An informative presentation then took the audience on a virtual journey across the North, South, East and West of India, showcasing the distinctive cultures, traditions and attractions of each region. A book review of a travel-themed book further encouraged students to discover new places and experiences through reading. Adding vibrancy to the celebration, students presented an energetic action song featuring different destinations across India.

The learning continued beyond the assembly through engaging activities for students of Classes III–V. In Tourist Guide for a Day, Class III students stepped into the role of tourist guides and shared interesting facts about famous destinations. Class IV students participated in Guess the Destination, identifying popular tourist spots through a series of intriguing clues.

Meanwhile, Class V students participated in Around India in 5 Minutes. Working in groups, they represented different Indian states through traditional attire, food, dance, language and cultural practices, reflecting the country’s remarkable diversity.

The celebration provided students with an enriching blend of learning, creativity and cultural exploration. It reinforced the message that travelling is not only about discovering new places but also about respecting their people, heritage, traditions and environment, making every journey more meaningful and responsible.
