Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, recently hosted the first session of its Theatre and Drama Club for students of the Preparatory Stage (Classes III to V), providing young learners with an engaging platform to explore self-expression, creativity and confidence through the performing arts.

The session began with an orientation focused on the importance of self-expression and confidence-building. Students were encouraged to step beyond their comfort zones, express themselves freely and discover the joy of communicating through movement, voice and imagination. The interactive approach created a warm and welcoming environment where every child had the opportunity to participate.

An engaging circle-time activity further encouraged students to connect with one another and share their thoughts and expressions. Through simple yet meaningful interactions, they learnt the importance of listening, responding and working together—skills that form an integral part of theatre as well as everyday communication.

The highlight of the session was an experiential enactment activity that invited students to imagine themselves as elements of nature. They explored the contrasting forms of a tiny plant and a huge tree swaying gently in the wind. Through body movements, expressions and imaginative play, the students brought these elements to life, experimenting with posture, rhythm and coordination.

The activity not only sparked their imagination but also encouraged them to observe, interpret and communicate ideas creatively. Their enthusiastic participation transformed the session into a lively space filled with laughter, curiosity and discovery.

The first session of the Theatre and Drama Club offered students an enriching experience that went beyond conventional classroom learning. It encouraged them to express themselves with confidence, collaborate with their peers and embrace creativity without hesitation.

With its blend of experiential learning, imagination and joyful participation, the session marked an exciting beginning to the students’ journey into the world of theatre and drama.
