When Nikita Sharma began her search for the right school for her daughter Sharanya, she wasn’t just looking for strong academics; she wanted a place that would nurture the whole child. Having heard glowing recommendations about Apeejay School, Nerul, she decided to enrol her daughter from Senior KG. Today, as her daughter navigates Class II, that decision has more than proven itself.
In this candid conversation, the mother reflects on her daughter’s transformation from a reserved young child into a confident, expressive individual.
Were your expectations from Apeejay School met?
My major consideration was overall development for my daughter and a strong curriculum. I also wanted her to be involved in extracurricular activities. My expectations have been met completely. Sharanya has been with the school since Senior KG, and now in Class II, she actively participates in all the activities the school offers, whether it’s dance or other creative pursuits. The school ensures she’s developing the skills she needs while also staying on top of academics.
Do you feel extracurricular activities add pressure on parents, or do children and parents genuinely engage with them?
I don’t see it that way at all. In fact, as a working parent, these activities give me a chance to interact and connect with other parents too. Because our kids are involved in these activities, we naturally get involved alongside them, which works well for both sides.
Are you satisfied with the school’s communication?
Yes, absolutely. Both Sharanya’s previous teacher and her present class teacher ensure regular communication through WhatsApp and other official channels. There’s never been an issue in that regard.
Do you feel the school is a safe environment for your daughter?
Yes, definitely. One thing I particularly appreciate is that most of the staff, not just teachers, but helpers and support staff as well, are women. The sports instructor is one of the few male staff members. Overall, I feel it’s a completely safe environment.
What kind of personality development have you noticed in your daughter?
She’s become far more confident. There’s no stage fear anymore. She interacts openly with people and expresses her ideas clearly. I’ve also seen her learn the balance between being outspoken and knowing when to sit back and listen. I believe the school has played a major role in helping her develop that balance.
How is the teaching methodology?
They genuinely try their best to adapt to each child’s individual capacity. Whether during PTMs or outside of them, the teachers have always been patient with the children. I don’t feel they’re rushing simply to complete the syllabus.
