Read edited excerpts:
Which part of the triathlon excites you the most?
In triathlon, there are three categories:
a) 60m sprint, 5m jump, 600m run
b) 60m sprint, 5m jump, back throw
c) 60m sprint, 5m jump, high jump
I participated in Group B. I enjoy this category the most because throwing is my strength, and it makes me feel confident and motivated during the event.
How do you divide your practice time between different sports?
My main events are discus and shot put, but since these are not part of the under-14 category, I chose triathlon. My coach plans my schedule so I can practice triathlon twice a week, focusing on running, jumping, and throwing, while continuing my discus and shot put training on other days. This balance keeps me prepared for both.
How do you balance academics with such intensive training?
I follow a strict routine. I wake up at 4 a.m. and train from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. After school, I study for two hours and then practice again in the evening. At night, I dedicate more time to studies before sleeping. This discipline helps me excel in both areas.
What has been your most memorable moment so far?
The happiest moment was when my twin brother and I both secured first position in triathlon. It made my family very proud.
What keeps you motivated during tough competitions?
I remind myself that my practice is my biggest strength. I stay confident, focus on giving my best, and try not to worry about results.

Do you dream of pursuing triathlon at a higher level?
Yes! I want to represent my school, then my state, and eventually India at national and international competitions.
How do your parents and teachers support your journey?
My parents and coach look after my training, diet, and rest. They even wake up early to take me to practice. My teachers and Principal Sir always encourage me, celebrate my achievements, and adjust my schedule when needed. I feel truly lucky to study at Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, where students are motivated to aim high in both academics and sports.
