Choosing the right school for a child is a critical decision that significantly influences a child’s overall development. While academic excellence is important undoubtedly, a school’s commitment to providing a comprehensive curriculum and a range of extracurricular activities is equally necessary as it helps a child later in life. Apeejay Education, with over five decades of legacy, is one such institute that believes in holistic development for its students.

This made it easy for parents like Samir Suri, father of Aadya Suri, a student of Class XII studying in Apeejay School, Noida to choose this school. “I am very happy and content with my decision of having chosen this school for my daughter. Not only does the school have a great academic curriculum but it also provides plenty of opportunities for the students to excel in co-curricular activities leading to a well-developed personality,” Suri said.

In an open and candid interview, the father discusses the boundless opportunities this school has provided for his daughter’s enhanced growth

How has been your daughter’s experience?

It has been a positive and enjoyable experience for her. While many schools prioritise academic achievements alone, what sets Apeejay apart is its commitment to holistic education. It has been 14 years since she joined the scool — she joined the school in the nursery — and each year has been memorable. Her teachers have been good as well.

What made you choose Apeejay for your child?

We specifically opted for this school because of its impressive infrastructure and ideal location. The well-maintained facilities and strategic positioning reflect positively on the management.

What are the extracurricular activities Aadya is engaged in?

She is actively engaged as a balvikas student; she contributes to social service initiatives. Additionally, she showcases her talent as a Kathak dancer and consistently participates in events like Annual Appreciation Day, debates, Model United Nations (MUN), and various other competitions held at the school.

How do manage the Board exam phobia?

It’s normal for students to be paranoid. Apeejay has been doing a great job in helping students overcome this. The two pre-Board exams were good practice. I always tell her that Board exams are just like regular tests – don’t stress too much. I advise her not to get overwhelmed. Practice every day and stay focused. I told her and even if she didn’t get a high score, it didn’t matter because what is important is that she learn from the experience. Her attitude and how she will deal with challenges are what really matter in the end.

Do you help her with studies?

My wife assists Aadya in Accountany, while I guide her through Business Studies. When it comes to Economics, our elder daughter lends her support.

How do you spend quality time with her?

In the evenings, we enjoy taking walks together. Occasionally we also hit the gym. Planning vacations and having family dinners are regular activities that we cherish.

What do you appreciate the most about this school?

The longevity of teachers at the school is a testament to the supportive environment created by the management. Unlike some other schools, Apeejay School, Noida remains humble and doesn’t boast unnecessarily.  The considerate approach of the management towards teachers is reciprocated, with teachers being equally considerate towards the students. This mutual understanding creates a positive flow of energy within the school community.
