‘Location and brand trust pulled me towards Apeejay’

For Swati Hiranandani, choosing a preschool for her son Parv came down to a mix of long-standing familiarity and convenience. Having known the Apeejay Group for over three decades, she shares what ultimately convinced her, and the early but meaningful changes she’s already noticed in Parv since he started.

What factors did you consider before admitting Parv to Rhythms Kinderworld, Greater Kailash-II?

The factors that mattered most to me were the distance and brand trust. The school is quite close to where I live, which matters a great deal with a child this young. Beyond that, I have known the Apeejay group for nearly 35 years now. 

Honestly, the final deciding factor was Madam Principal herself. We had a detailed conversation with her and she was thorough and genuinely exploratory in how she approached our questions.

Are your expectations from the School met?

It is good. Since Parv is still very young, I’m not just looking at academics. I care about overall development, like how interactive he’s becoming, and what he’s absorbing from the environment. On all of those fronts, it’s looking really promising.

What improvements have you noticed in Parv since he started?

He’s just 26 months old, and he’s started talking. I wasn’t expecting quite this early. He’s become far more expressive and independent. I was genuinely amazed to see him drinking from his own glass of milk yesterday, sitting, eating, and talking to people on his own. He was always somewhat social by nature, but he’s become noticeably more so since joining school.

Is he picking up language well, in both his mother tongue and English?

His mother tongue is coming along well, which matters a lot to me personally. I’m not someone who insists on speaking only English at home, so Hindi remains important to us. As for English, his teachers do speak to him in it, and he understands quite well, though actually speaking it himself is still developing.

How satisfied are you with safety and security at the school?

I have noticed the guards being very attentive — especially since his grandparents are often the ones picking him up, and the staff are careful about that. The non-teaching staff in his classroom has also been consistently attentive. I’ve never seen the children distressed around staff, which gives me real confidence on the security front.

Is the school including children in extracurricular or cultural activities?

Yes, and I’m genuinely glad about this. The school does a lovely job involving the children in cultural and religious occasions — Ganpati, Janmashtami, and even around Teacher’s Day. It’s a thoughtful touch that shows the school puts real effort into these activities.
