Parents must select a school for their child that boasts a solid track record and demonstrates ongoing dedication to academic excellence. A reputable school is characterised not just by a robust curriculum but also by the presence of seasoned teachers who elevate the quality of education.

“Placing significant emphasis on extracurricular activities, resources, and facilities enhances students’ holistic development beyond just the academic sphere,” states Dr Rupinder Kaur, whose son Mehtabjot Singh attends LKG at Apeejay School, Rama Mandi.

In an open discussion, Dr Kaur shares valuable insights on how the school creates a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for her child.

How was the admission process?

Enrolling him in the nursery was a breeze. The admission process was very smooth and straightforward. Having my older son already attending the same school made everything more streamlined. We simply went in, completed the necessary paperwork, and he was enrolled without any hassle.

What made you choose this school?

Based on the positive experience with our elder son and receiving multiple recommendations, we were keen on finding a school with a proven track record. After assessing the consistent progress of Apeejay over the years and considering its stellar reputation and results, we confidently chose it for our younger child.

Is he involved in any extracurricular activities?

Mehtabjot has a strong passion for dancing and actively seeks to engage in various school activities held at school.

Is he a fussy eater at school?

Mehtab’s eating habits differ at home and school and are sort of the opposite. While he tends to eat less at home, he intends to eat better in the school where there is ample support from the staff, leading to a more satisfying mealtime. Surprisingly, he is not fussy at all and seems extremely comfortable in the school environment.

How do you support your child’s education at home?

At home, I teach him when I get time but most time, my elder son teaches him.

Since you are a doctor, how do you manage to spend quality time with your child?

He frequently accompanies me to my clinic where, as an Ayurvedic doctor, I primarily treat chronic patients who spend extended time sharing their medical histories. It’s important to note that these patients are not infectious. Mehtab, being highly interactive, active, and curious, absorbs great knowledge from diverse individuals. Additionally, we make it a point to take him out on weekends for further exposure and experiences.

Has his behaviour changed ever since he joined Apeejay?

He has developed a sense of responsibility and has become more adept at interacting with his peers, actively exploring the outside world. His initial shyness has noticeably vanished.

What do you appreciate the most about this school?

The teachers and the principal are exceptionally approachable and friendly. This creates a nurturing environment where the child feels immensely comfortable and secure.
