He likes to study on a daily basis and never misses his classwork and homework. His favourite subject is English because he loves to read different books. Meet Abhijai Jyoti, student of class IV at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg who aspired to become a chess champion when he grows up. “I want to be the next Grandmaster and bring laurels to my nation,” expressed the young lad.
“I have been learning this game since I was four years old and this five-year journey into the game has been a fantastic learning experience,” the nine-year-old added who loves to spend time and play with his friends at school. “During recess and PT periods we run off to the ground and play different games,” he expressed.
“At home my mother helps me with all my studies and helps me with my homework as well when I get stuck. She is like a superwoman who has mastered the art of multitasking,” said Abhijai whose favourite food is pav-bhaaji.
He also shared that his day starts at 6:30 am daily. “I am back by 3 pm and then after changing my clothes and freshening up, I take my lunch. In the evening I drink my milk as a ritual and finish my homework. Later in the night, I watch my favourite cartoon – Pokemon on TV,” Abhijai said.
“I love to read Jeff Kinney and Diary of a Wimpy Kid is my current favourite,” added the class IV student in conclusion.
