Many hold the belief that education is confined solely to textbooks and classroom walls, a notion that significantly underestimates its breadth. Education, in its truest sense, encompasses much more than just academic study; it’s about nurturing a child’s holistic development. It’s crucial to offer children opportunities to delve into extracurricular activities, as these pursuits play a vital role in shaping them into well-rounded individuals. These activities not only complement their academic learning but also foster skills such as teamwork, leadership, and time management, enhancing their overall growth and preparation for the future.
The commendable approach of schools that actively encourage student participation in a variety of extracurricular activities is a testament to their understanding of comprehensive education. A shining example of this can be seen in the experiences of Aashvi Verma, a nursery student at Apeejay School, Rama Mandi. Her mother, Ruchi Verma, lauds the school for its exceptional commitment to providing students with ample opportunities to engage in activities beyond the academic curriculum.
In a heartfelt interview, she emphasised the importance of such initiatives, noting how they significantly contribute to the personal and social development of students. “The school’s dedication to fostering a balanced educational environment is crucial for nurturing the innate talents and interests of children, thereby enabling them to explore new horizons and discover their passions,” Ruchi said.
What made you choose this school for your child?
After extensive research and looking at several schools in our city, we chose Apeejay. We were impressed by the stellar reputation; we had heard good things about this school. This is what made us choose this particular school for our daughter.
How was the admission process?
The admission process was exceptionally smooth. The teachers at the school played a pivotal role in facilitating and guiding us through the enrollment process for our child, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.
How has your daughter’s experience been thus far?
Aashvi is super happy attending the school every day. Majorly, it is quite challenging for parents to trust the new environment where they are sending off their children. However, the incredible teachers of Apeejay School made the transition exceptionally comfortable for my daughter. As parents, this makes us very happy and satisfied.
Is she involved in extracurricular activities?
As of now, she is not active in any particular game but she has an innate passion for dancing and recently showcased her talents by participating in the Annual Appreciation Day.
Most kids are fussy eaters. How do you deal with this?
There are times when she doesn’t want to eat certain foods. However, the teachers at this school play a proactive role in ensuring her well-being, offering assistance and support during meals if she ever faces any reluctance. Slowly and steadily she is learning to eat everything that I cook for her now.
Are PTMs held regularly?
Yes. And I attend all of them. The teachers give very comprehensive feedback and areas where the student may extra attention. Aashvi’s feedback has always been positive from her teachers.
How do you spend quality time with your daughter?
I dedicate all my time to being with my daughter. I was working before, but put my career on hold temporarily. Our days are filled with quality moments – from engaging in outdoor games to visiting her grandparents and enjoying shopping together, we do everything together.
What do you love the most about Apeejay?
The Annual Appreciation Day was a fantastic experience. Managing performances with toddlers comes with challenges, but the overall outcome was impressive. Beyond that, the school offers a wide range of extracurricular activities. The exceptional dedication and skills of the teachers contribute significantly to the overall positive experience that we have seen.
