For Saanvi Sharma, a Class XI Commerce student of Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, receiving the Dr Stya Paul Award for Human Values is not just an honour — it’s a responsibility. Having studied at the school since Nursery, Saanvi has grown up embracing values of honesty, empathy, and discipline that have become the core of her character. To her, leadership means inspiring others to be their best selves while staying true to one’s principles.

Congratulations on receiving the Dr Stya Paul Award for Human Values! What does this recognition mean to you?

Thank you! This award reminds me to keep living by the values of honesty, consistency, respect, patience, and discipline. I believe in letting my actions speak louder than my words and in inspiring others through my conduct.

What does leadership mean to you as a student?

Leadership, to me, is not about dictating but about helping others grow. It means guiding people to become a better version of themselves. A leader should motivate others to act with kindness and integrity. I always strive to be approachable and helpful to my juniors and peers.

You’ve been at Apeejay since Nursery. How has the school shaped you?

Apeejay has played a major role in shaping my personality. The teachers here have always encouraged me to be sincere and humble. The school’s positive environment inspires me to keep improving as a student and as a person every day.

What are some values you try to uphold in your daily life?

Integrity is the value I connect with most deeply. Being authentic and standing firm on moral principles defines who I am. Along with integrity, I always practice discipline, respectfulness and empathy in everything I do.

How have your parents and school influenced your moral outlook?

From my parents, I’ve learned sincerity, patience and compassion. From Apeejay, I’ve learned to respect everyone and stay consistent in my efforts. Both have taught me that true success comes when we remain kind and honest, no matter what.

How do you hope to carry forward the legacy of Dr Stya Paul Ji?

I wish to continue spreading his message of human values. In the future, I would like to work for underprivileged students and conduct moral value workshops in schools. By helping others grow and learn, I hope to live up to his vision of creating compassionate, value-driven individuals.
