Enter a realm of shared enthusiasm, where both teachers and students dedicated their efforts to bring forth a triumphant event — Anubhuti. On this occasion, the achievements of students were acknowledged, honoured, and celebrated.

The spotlight of the function was on the younger generation, who took the stage by storm and transformed the auditorium into a domain of youthful exuberance. The guests were not only warmly welcomed but were also accorded a heartfelt felicitation with a resounding standing ovation.

The ‘green welcome’ accentuated the symbolic reception for the guests. Planting a sapling represents life, growth, and prosperity. A symbolisation where the parents hand over their saplings to the school, and the school in return nurtures and transitions them into a fruitful tree.

The chief guest for the function was Dr Preet Kanwal, MBBS MD, Specialist in Anesthesia and Critical Care. She is working as a medical officer at Civil Hospital, Nakodar. She is also the Chairperson of Red Cross Society, Jalandhar and Chairperson, Women and Child Welfare Council of Jalandhar. Additionally, Dr Kanwal is the Vice-President of Prayas, a school for special children. The event was also graced by the benign presence of Dr Sucharita Sharma, Director, Apeejay Education, Jalandhar, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, Gurgaon, Senior Advisor to Rajeshwari Sangeet Academy Trust, Jalandhar, and Mr Nirmal Mahajan, a member of Board of Governors. Other dignitaries included principals of sister schools of Apeejay Education.

The function of the primary and pre-primary batch commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising the inauguration of a vibrant and auspicious gathering. The kids wearing hues of yellow and blue sang Ganesh Vandana. Their graceful and harmonious expressions captivated the audience and set the tone for an enchanting and culturally rich event.

Speaking at the function Dr Kanwal said that teaching as a profession is all about dedication, devotion, and commitment, and that is why she holds a huge amount of respect for the teachers.

“Wherever we stand today, it is because of our teachers and parents. The early years are very crucial for a child’s development. These early learning experiences build intellectual, emotional, and physical growth and development. We must try to raise our children well in these early years, so that they can have a brighter future ahead as they are the ones who will be shaping our society at large,” Dr Kanwal said.

According to her, parents and teachers are jointly responsible for the upbringing of the child. “We must create such an environment at home and school that is safe, supportive, and nurturing for our children to grow,” she shared.

She added that at times, due to societal pressure, we want our children to excel in all fields and be the best. “We often ignore our children’s interests in this race and forget to see what the child is best at. We often go wrong in accepting the fact that every child is unique. Some might not be good in studies but may excel in sports and vice-versa. Hence, it is important to try to find what the child is good at and nurture that talent. Let’s just not run after academics, as every child has a different potential. You must appreciate the child for the little things they do. Never discourage them. When we appreciate and encourage the child, they have a motivation which helps them to keep going and achieve better things in life,” Dr Kanwal advised.

Dr Kanwal talking about the theme said that it is heartwarming and thoughtful. “It is such a good message; it is very important to raise awareness about protecting our planet. If we save our planet we save our lives. The most beautiful gift given to us in this life is the gift of life. Only a school like Apeejay can uplift its students with such pure dedication,” Dr Kanwal said.

She concluded her speech with a special message for the parents: “You must feel lucky that your children are studying at such an esteemed and dedicated school.”

Taking the stage next, Mr Nirmal Mahajan said that this Apeejay School Jalandhar, is the main child of Dr Stya Paul; it was established back in 1967. “We proudly say that this is the basic root of all other Apeejay institutes and today boasts 26 institutes. I am happy to note that whosoever has come as a principal here has acted as a very good gardener and preserved the very roots of Apeejay,” Mr Mahajan said.

Heconveyed his deep appreciation to the school, expressing profound gratitude by congratulating all the staff members, students, and parents who have contributed to the success of the school.

Anubhuti is not just an event but a celebration of collective efforts, achievements, and the indomitable spirit that defines our school community. “If you believe in yourself, have dedication and pride, and never quit, you will be a winner. The price of victory is high and so are the rewards,” Mrs Sangeeta Nistandra, principal of Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg said.

Dr Stya Paul, the Founder-Chairman of Apeejay Education has been our source of inspiration. His legacy, values, and commitment to excellence continue to inspire us. It’s heartening to witness his vision being carried forward by his only daughter Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson, Apeejay Education, and Chancellor Apeejay Stya University who has carved a path of excellence in education,” Mrs Nistandra said.

‘We are also fortunate to have received immense support from their children — Mr Nishant Berlia, Co-Promoter of Apeejay Stya and Svran Group and Pro-Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University; Mr Aditya Berlia, Co-Promoter of Apeejay Stya and Svran Group and Pro-Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University. Without the extreme efforts of her daughter Dr Neha Berlia, Co-Promoter of Apeejay Stya and Svran Group and Pro-Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University, this programme could not have been imagined, commenced or executed,” she said and added that the notable changes witnessed within the school premises have been made possible only by Dr Neha Berlia.

“She has taken immense pride in converting all Apeejay Schools of Jalandhar and transitioning them to state-of-the-art infrastructure. Some people dream of success while others get up in the morning, and make it happen. The earnest commitment of Apeejay Education is to pass on education and knowledge to our children for a bright and better future keeping in mind our motto: Soaring High is My Nature,” Mrs Nistandra said.

The principal proudly announced the school’s recent achievements, including being awarded the Best Education School in 2023. The school also received the Best School Award in the Cambridge MUN and accolades for excellent results at the CBSE Boards of classes X and XII.

Mrs Nistandra also discussed recent school amendments, emphasising mental and emotional well-being through counseling for students.

“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence, and you must keep your spirits high,” Mrs Nistandra said.

The atmosphere was also abuzz with anticipation as the first performance – ‘Call of the Wild’ unfolded. This was followed by the second performance – ‘Embracing Planet Earth’. Students were seen to be resonating a melodic representation of unity, mission, vision, and core values by the enchanting sound of the signature song of the school – Hum Apeejay ke bacche.

This was followed by the play – Anubhuti. The theme showcased the relevance of how in the race of technology and science, we are endangering several flora and fauna. The play emphasised the importance of preserving Mother Nature, accompanied by the song Build a Better Tomorrow.

In the dance segment — Cocoon to Butterfly – the young ones symbolically transformed from cocoons with love and care, mirroring the nurturing process. The act was full of energy, enthusiasm, and vibrant colours accompanied by the backdrop of greenery added to the lively presentation. Adding to the charm of the function was the Chandrayaan performance. The students danced to the song Chanda Mama. The youngest stars of the show were dressed up as astronauts and showed the journey to the moon.

The chief guest was invited to the stage and was requested to felicitate the young students with various awards. Recognitions included top achievers, scholars, and the prestigious Dr Stya Paul Award for Human Values. Students were also acknowledged for their soft skills — embracing punctuality, values, kindness, and more.

It is rightly said: To be grateful, it must be felt in the heart,” Mrs Sarika Khosla said in her vote of thanks. “We take immense pride in thanking each one who has contributed to making today’s function a success. A special heartfelt gratitude to Dr Kanwal and sincere thanks to Dr Sharma for always being the mentor and the pillar of strength,” Mrs Khosla said.

She thanked the principal for the wonderful conceptualisation and execution of the entire programme. She also extended a thank you note to the sister principals of other Apeejay Schools for their presence.

“You all have added to our happiness. I also thank our budding rock stars – the students!

Anubhuti ended with the rendition of the National Anthem.
