Paramjit Dhankhar, is a Leader at ITES Services for the past 20 years and his wife, Saroj Dhankhar, is a homemaker. They are proud parents of Shaurya Dhankar enrolled in Class 9 at Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad. In an interview, Mr. Dhankar shares how teachers have helped his kids catch up with Hindi after returning from Australia. Read edited excerpts:

What made you think Apeejay Svran Global School, 21-D Faridabad, would be the right choice for your child?

This is the second stint for our son Shaurya at Apeejay Svran Global School. We were staying abroad for a few years, and prior to that Shaurya was studying at Apeejay. In fact, we got very good assistance from the school during that time from paperwork to other logistics.

When we came back to India, Apeejay was the school of choice from our past experience. Also, we did some research on schools in Faridabad and Appejay Svran Global was featured as one of the top schools. So it was an easy decision.

Do you personally interact with the faculty on a regular basis?

Yes, we do regularly interact with the teachers. And I must say that all the teachers are very helpful and kind, which makes it a better and easy-going experience with the school.

Tell us what you think about the way teachers conduct classes.

We think the teachers conduct classes in an organised and friendly manner. They clear the doubts of every kid in the class to make sure that the subject and topics are well understood. They even regularly conduct class tests and oral tests to refresh the children’s memories.

During the Parent Teacher Meetings, we’ve noticed that the teachers share specific and detailed feedback for our child which is a testament to the fact that teachers pay attention to each student during the classes.

Have you noticed any particular improvement in your child?

Yes, we have seen a lot of improvements in our child over the years in many aspects including speaking, writing, comprehension, and overall confidence. We have seen our children grow socially and make new friends.

We’d like to thank the school for involving students in social activities. We think it’s a great way to give the children an environment and exposure to holistic learning.

How well does the school ensure children’s safety and security?

The school management ensures children’s safety and security during school hours as the top priority. They have many proper guidelines in place to prevent students from leaving without permission. They even have a medical room to provide help to the students who get injured while playing sports or in any other way. The teachers make sure that the student follows the rules and doesn’t run in the hallways as that can lead to someone getting injured.

Whenever there is any field trip, the school is extra cautious.

How are the teachers helping students on a personal level?

The teachers are always ready to help children if they have any doubt. In fact, a great example would be Kanchan ma’am, who has helped our daughter, Eeshita, with her Hindi. After we returned from Australia, my daughter had a lot of trouble catching up in Hindi, and Kanchan ma’am was so kind and helpful that she took extra online classes during the lockdown to help my daughter come up the learning curve.

Also, I must mention Archana mam who always ensures Shaurya gets a well-rounded learning experience not just on the academic side, but also otherwise.

How is School helping to enhance the speaking skills of your son?

Shaurya is part of the school’s interact club and gets exposure to events. He has also performed many activities and plays in the assembly. The school teachers have helped him to improve his speaking skills and overall confidence.

Are you working, if yes? Then how Apeejay is helping working parents?

It’s a blessing that one of us is working and the other has taken on to help with the household, which gives us the bandwidth to spend time with our kids. Moreover, the way the school takes responsibility for the child and also the teachers’ efforts make it a lot easier for working parents.
