Pollution is a growing global issue, and raising awareness from an early age is essential. On October 22, 2024, students from classes VII-C and VII-D of Apeejay School, Noida, conducted a vibrant assembly on the theme The Hazards of Pollution. Through music, dance, and drama, they emphasised the urgent need for action to protect our planet.
The assembly began with a warm welcome to the Principal, Ms Ritu Kohli, and Vice-principal, Ms Puneeta Bhasin. A special moment of appreciation followed as the students felicitated their Guest of Honour, Ms Mukta Rakheja, a distinguished Science teacher who has inspired countless students with her dedication.
Addressing the students, she shared valuable insights about the significance of individual responsibility in curbing pollution. Her speech left the students motivated to make a positive impact on their surroundings.

The students took the stage with a creative and engaging presentation, highlighting the dangers of pollution and the rising Air Quality Index (AQI). They conveyed their message powerfully through a series of performances, combining music, dance, and drama to spread awareness about how pollution affects not just the environment but human health.
“The presentation was a stark remark on human activities that lead to air pollution and suggested ways to deal with the problem through individual efforts,” Ms Heena, a teacher at Apeejay School, Noida said.
The performances were not just informative but also offered practical solutions to combat pollution. The students suggested actionable steps like planting more trees, carpooling, reusing and recycling products, and reducing the use of plastic. These small yet effective measures were emphasised as important ways everyone can contribute to creating a cleaner environment.

“Preparing for and performing in assembly has been a wonderful experience for me. I learnt how to lead a team and how to coordinate with people of different skills working towards a common goal. I have also learned the importance of working as a team to perform at our best,” Suhanya Johari, a student of class VII-D shared.
The event was both informative and entertaining, with the audience appreciating the students’ efforts to bring awareness to such a critical issue while offering hope for a cleaner, greener future.
