Inter-house Science Model Making Competition at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar, nurtures scientific thinking and problem-solving skills

Recently, Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar, organised an inspiring Inter-house Science Model Making competition, providing students with a vibrant platform to explore scientific concepts, showcase creativity and develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges. 

The competition was conducted in two categories: Middle Category for Classes VI-VIII and Senior Category for Classes IX-XII. Students participated with great enthusiasm and presented an impressive range of working models rooted in scientific principles and designed with practical applications for society.

The exhibits reflected the students’ growing interest in science and technology. Models in the Health and Technology segment focused on stress and depression monitoring applications and innovative health-monitoring devices. The Agriculture category featured creative ideas centred on modern irrigation methods and water-conservation techniques. Students also demonstrated their understanding of physics through models based on the Tesla Coil and electromagnetic induction. Meanwhile, the Green Energy segment highlighted sustainable alternatives through solar, wind and bio-energy models. 

Adding to the excitement, the young innovators confidently explained the working principles and significance of their models before the judges. They responded to questions with clarity and demonstrated a strong understanding of the concepts behind their projects. Their presentations reflected not only scientific knowledge but also creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.

The competition also encouraged students to think beyond textbooks and explore how scientific knowledge can contribute to addressing contemporary challenges. Their innovative ideas highlighted a growing awareness of sustainability, healthcare, technology and the need for responsible solutions for society.

Principal of the school, Mr Yashpal Sharma, accompanied by Vice-principal Ms Aarti Shorey Bhat, appreciated the commendable efforts of the students, teachers and House Masters in making the event a meaningful learning experience. They encouraged the students to remain curious, continue experimenting and develop a scientific outlook that would inspire innovation and contribute to nation-building.

The event concluded on an inspiring note, celebrating the spirit of inquiry and innovation among the students. It served as a reminder that when curiosity meets creativity, young minds can transform ideas into meaningful innovations for a better future.
