Learning photography is essential for design students, as it allows them to capture and communicate ideas visually. Photography helps students to develop a better understanding of the visual language, composition, and storytelling, which can enhance their design skills. It lets students experiment with different lighting, angles, and perspectives, which can lead to more creative and dynamic designs. Additionally, the ability to take high-quality photographs can be a valuable asset in the professional world, as many design projects require visual content.

Therefore, understanding the need for learning photography, which can provide budding design students with a powerful tool for self-expression, creative exploration, and professional growth, Apeejay Institute of Design (AID) recently organised a photography workshop for the Foundation 2nd semester students.

During the two-day workshop, students got an opportunity to learn how to capture professional photographs using their smartphones and cameras. They were explained the nuances of photography as well as they learnt how to put all the inbuilt editing features of their phones to best usage.

The workshop was delivered by Mr Jayant Gajera, an eminent artist, print maker & photographer. Demonstrating camera handling, angles, views and other technical aspects of photography, Mr Gajera, explained about various parts of DSLR cameras and their functions.
