AIDians put up a grand show during “FESTOMANIA – 2023” 

Apeejay Institute of Design organises a three-day annual fest which showcased the institute’s undying spirit and student creativity

Fests at Apeejay Institute of Design (AID) are an unforgettable moment. The entire campus immerses in a festive mode. This year was no different as the institute organised its annual fest 

“FESTOMANIA 2023”. The atmosphere of the entire campus was bustling with banners, flowers, candles displayed all around. The three-day fest showcased not only a plethora of events, but conducted informative sessions by design experts from the. 

Ms Reetu Betala, Founder Director of AID, inaugurated the fest by lighting the lamp and addressed everyone with a welcome speech. The institute also invited Dr. Romen Sarkar and Ms. Lolita Dutta, renowned designers, who delivered engaging sessions on various aspects of design and the booming industry. Ms. Lolita Dutta during her session shared her life journey as a design professional. She also addressed the students with the beautiful words, “Design is within us. You all are here today because you want to be a designer.” She further explained the three fundamental qualities of a designer that are creativity, imagination and observation.

Day 1 

The fest commenced with quiz and creative competitions which included face painting, funky hairstyle,tattoo art, cartoon making and many more exciting events. This gave all the enthusiastic participants a perfect platform to unleash their creativity and out-of-the-box thinking power. Further, design entrepreneurs were invited to connect with current students, who inspire them with their accomplishments. Few enthusiastic students grabbed the golden opportunity to put up their stalls, which gave them a platform to showcase their enterprising skills.

Day 2 

The fun and excitement of the AIDians continued on the second day with all of them participating in exciting fun games like paper dance, donut race, dart the balloon, capture the flag, to name a few.

Day 3 

The final day was full of cultural competitions and fashion shows. The talented participants mesmerised the audience with their euphonious voice while performing the duet songs. The spectators could not take their eyes off from the alluring and flawless steps of the performers whether it was a solo, duet, or even a group dance. Finally, it was time for the “showstopper event”, which was the much-awaited fashion show.  The theme for the fashion show was “ZODIAC”, which exhibited this world which is a combination of chaos, hardships and unthinkable evils. Young and budding fashion designers came up with mind blowing chic outfits after exploring various colors, patterns, detailing and accessories based on Zodiac signs. The audience was spellbound with the confidence level of the models, as they sashayed down the runway. The winners of the cultural competitions and fashion show were awarded with attractive gift hampers and certificates.
