Tell us something about your recent achievement.
I’m proud to share that I recently won a zonal singing competition representing my school. This achievement means a lot to me because it reflects the hard work and dedication I’ve put into my singing skills. What made this experience even more rewarding was the support from my teachers, and the opportunity to showcase my talent on a larger stage.
How did you prepare for it?
As someone has said “practice makes a man perfect”, the same suits me as well. My vital role in winning the competition is my music mentor. It’s an honour to get a teacher like him.
How did Apeejay support you in pursuing your craft?
It played a very big role! My school is my pride. In my case, teachers and school were extremely cooperative and would allow me to miss school for my singing classes. After the competition, I met my Principal and she gave me blessings for life.
Who is your inspiration?
My inspiration is Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. His songs like Yeh jo halka halka suroor hai are beautiful renditions. But sadly, he is no more. But his songs are timeless to date.
How did your singing journey begin?
When I was in class VI, a new music teacher joined the school. During one of his classes, I was asked to sing the National Anthem and a prayer. Then I was selected for the school choir. Then I participated in the zonal competition and got second prize in it. Since then, sir spotted my talent and honed my skills.
How has singing changed your life?
Since the time I started singing, I have become more disciplined in life and has become a very crucial part of my behaviour.
Would you like to take up singing professionally in future?
I haven’t thought about it yet. But I will continue singing till the end of my school journey. I want to become an engineer though.
