Apeejay Education encourages a love for learning and inspires students to embrace curiosity, pursue knowledge, and engage in continuous self-improvement. “I am sure my daughter will be a lifelong learner who will turn out to be adaptable, open-minded, and committed to personal and professional growth throughout her life,” says Shyamapada Das whose daughter Srishti studies in class X at Apeejay School, Nerul.

In a candid interview, the mother talks about how good the teachers are here among other things.

Why did you select this school for your child?

After we shifted to Mumbai we started looking for an apt school for our child. Then we got to know that Apeejay is a great school through word of mouth mostly. After visiting the school, I found it perfectly apt for my daughter.

How are the teachers here?

They are wonderful and super cooperative. I am amazed to see the dedication they have for students beyond school hours, as they are available over calls and WhatsApp. They always welcome questions from kids and are more than happy to resolve them.

What is your parenting mantra?

We, as parents, know the harsh reality that there is a high level of competition and pressure in the world outside and it’s not easy to succeed. Therefore, we maintain a healthy environment mixed with discipline and freedom. We want our child to excel in whatever she does but without any undue pressure.

What does Srishti aspire to become?

She has plans to pursue fashion design in the future, so we believe she will carve her path towards that gradually.

What is the balance between co-curricular activities and studies here?

She enjoys activities like dancing, singing, and drawing. So whenever there are inter-school competitions organised at school, she mostly participates in them.

Do you believe in the adage – that school is the second home for a child?

Yes, of course, school is like a second home for a child since he/she spends almost six to seven hours a day there. Kids learn a lot from their teachers and imbibe all kinds of values and morals, they even learn many other things from their friends there.

How has the school positively influenced your daughter?

See when a child is admitted to a school, he/she undergoes many changes – physically, and mentally. In school, these changes are reinforced positively through a balance of negative and positive rewards. My daughter has been groomed fantastically here so far and I am quite happy and satisfied.
