Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh said that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 supplements the start-up ecosystem in addition to the promise of opening new career and entrepreneurship opportunities for students in the country.

Addressing students of DAV College in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur, Singh emphasised how NEP’s academic flexibility can have a positive impact on students. He referred to the launch of the Madhya Pradesh government’s ‘Start-up Policy 2022’ and remarked that North India, especially Punjab, should come forward to promote start-ups as alternate sources of livelihood.

Commenting on the trend of a whopping number of students migrating abroad, the minister urged the youth to ‘look up’ for the numerous opportunities provided by the government…for startups, research & development (R&D) and innovation. He further expressed confidence that the current generation will ‘play a significant role to reverse the brain drain phenomenon’.
