Navneet Kumar, director, Digital Expert Corporation of India, researched a number of schools before finally opting for Apeejay School, Saket, for his son Aarav. What the father appreciates the most is the promptness of the school in understanding parents’ issues and guiding them. In a candid chat, Kumar tells us more about how his son Aarav, who is in class KG, is being groomed perfectly by the teachers.

Excerpts:

What were your criteria while choosing a school for Aarav and what made you pick Apeejay?

At the time of admission, I had a lot of concerns about whether or not I would find the right school for my son. I applied to many schools, but it was Apeejay’s vibrant and positive environment that impressed me. I had a very good interaction with the school principal and the teachers—I found them to be very caring. Before enrolling, I also asked other parents who gave me positive feedback about the school. Not to mention, it is quite close to home.

Now that Aarav is studying in Apeejay, I can confidently say that the school is one of the best in South Delhi.

Were your queries addressed?

I had a lot of queries, but the good thing was the principal patiently explained everything with concrete evidence in the form of documentation and other material I asked for. None of my questions were left unanswered. I was very satisfied.

What kind of progress are you noticing in Aarav?

Aarav used to be an introvert and hesitated to interact with people. His class teacher made a note of this issue and soon, I began noticing an improvement in him. Now, he greets his friends and teachers and talks to everybody confidently.

Coming to academics, Aarav is picking up new things every day. I go through his notebooks from time to time. From what I have observed, teachers introduce new topics through interesting themes and activities.

Recently, he also participated in the school annual day. My wife and I got teary-eyed when we saw him match dance steps with other children so beautifully! It goes to show how well they were groomed by the teachers.

Apeejay believes in teaching good values to children. Are you seeing any behaviourial changes in your son?

Aarav is imbibing values of sharing and caring. He is a single child but now I see him sharing his toys and books with friends. He also comes forward to help people.

How are the teachers?

They share updates on a daily basis. During parent-teacher meetings, they make sure to share every kind of feedback while addressing all our queries too. I am very happy with the school.
