Meta to launch AI Chatbots for young users

The social media giant, Meta, is reportedly on the verge of introducing new Artificial Intelligence (AI) Chatbots with distinct personalities across its various applications, as per news sources. Its primary objective is to attract a younger demographic.

Additionally, the company has devised a product that would enable celebrities and content creators to utilise their AI Chatbots for engaging with their fan base. One of the bots currently in development is dubbed “Bob the robot,” characterised as a “sass master general” possessing “exceptional intellect, sharp humour, and a touch of sarcasm.”

Meta has been prioritising younger consumers, given the trend of teenagers gravitating towards platforms like TikTok rather than its own Instagram.

“We are retooling our teams to make serving young adults their North Star, rather than optimising for the larger number of older people,” CEO Mark Zuckerberg remarked on this shift two years back.

“Like everything, this will involve trade-offs in our product, and it will likely mean the rest of our community will grow more slowly than it otherwise would have. But it should also mean that our services become stronger for young adults.”
