Shashank Rajesh Agrawal, who is pursuing an MBA in Finance & Operations at Apeejay School of Management (ASM), has cleared his very first job interview. Excited to work as deputy manager II at ICICI Bank, the student tells us in an interview about how the college placement cell guided him.

Excerpts:

What made you opt for MBA and why did you pick ASM?

Prior to my MBA, I had prepared for Chartered Accountancy (CA) but could not clear the exam. I took the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) and secured good marks. Upon searching for colleges, I got to know ASM was among the best in terms of return on investment (RoI), specialisation, and faculty.

In what ways did ASM prepare you for your professional journey?

ASM gave me the opportunity to intern at ICICI, which gave me a pre-placement offer that I accepted. Apart from the internship, there were a few industrial visits that the college organised for us that were very helpful. The support I received from the faculty helped me gain a lot of self-confidence as well and pushed me to hone my skills.

Are you planning to clear CA as well?

I am preparing for the exam that is due in March next year.

How did ASM’s placement cell help you get a job?

The Corporate Resource Centre (CRC) team provided students with numerous placements with competitive salary packages in the domestic space. The placement cell also provided international job opportunities.

What about your mentors?

They gave a lot of assistance during the mentorship as well as the internship. They played a big role in my overall development.

What are the most essential things to keep in mind to crack a job interview?

Topic enhancement and good knowledge of current affairs are important. Self-confidence is key. Most importantly, be passionate about your goals.
