Schools play a vital role in instilling values and ethics in children. Choosing a school with a strong moral foundation can help shape children into responsible, empathetic, and ethical individuals. A supportive and nurturing school environment can positively influence a child’s self-esteem and confidence. A caring atmosphere encourages children to explore, experiment, and take risks, fostering a love for learning.

Hence, it is not surprising that parents like Renu and her entrepreneur husband Sulabh Mahajan chose Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld in Jalandhar for both their children – Riyansh (class V at Apeejay School, Model Town) and Saira (nursery at Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld).

“When we were looking for a school for my son, we asked a lot of people which school was the best. We had heard only good things about Apeejay. Also, my cousin was an alumnus of Apeejay. He gave his thumbs up as well. Sending my kids to Apeejay has been a great decision on our part,” Renu said.

Excerpts from an interview.

What were some of the things that you had heard about Apeejay?

I had heard that the school has excellent teachers; I had also heard that it is the oldest school in Jalandhar. The good part is that it is in the heart of the city. Also, the school has a great academic curriculum combined with co-curricular activities. I was looking for this kind of school for my kids.

How has your experience been?

I have not been disappointed in the school from the time Riyansh started his schooling at Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld. Both the branches of Apeejay are very good, especially when it comes to the teachers and the teaching methodology.

Can you elaborate on the teaching methodology?

For my son, who has just gone into class V, it is a mix of academic and experiential learning. But what I love about Rhythms is the fun-based activities they do to teach my daughter. There are so many activities they do to improve their motor skills and other skills. For example, Kinderworld teaches using balls to teach colours. They have activities that teach kids different shapes. But the best part is how they taught the toddlers to fill bottles without spilling the water. It is truly amazing to watch my daughter do this at home.

This is something that my son can’t do properly till date since he didn’t go to Apeejay in the nursery. This doesn’t mean that he is not good, but compared to my daughter, he falls flat.

How are the teachers?

As I mentioned, the teachers here are excellent. Pallavi ma’am is so good. Due to COVID-19, I have the numbers of all the teachers. This is something lacking in other schools. Also, at Apeejay I can call the teacher anytime with a query; this is a practice that is not followed at other schools where you can only send a message via the school diary.

Are parent-teacher meetings held regularly?

Yes. They were held even during COVID-19 times when the classes shifted online. The teachers are very thorough with the feedback.

How was the admission process for your daughter?

It was offline. I went to school. The administration was extremely cooperative. They took me around the school and showed me the infrastructure that they had. They even showed me the bathroom which was neat and clean. Overall, the entire process was smooth and easy.

Would you recommend this school to other parents?

I have been doing it for some time now. I have not regretted putting my kids in Apeejay. And tell other parents the same thing.
